Ashley, that was the girls name, got dressed and ready for school. Then she got on the bus with Backpack on her back and left to Solfedge Elementary. Backpack thought Tampa Bay was a beautiful place with the palm trees waving hello in the wind , and the warm sandy beach.

When Ashley and Backpack arrived at the school Ashley went inside her classroom and started chit-chatting with her friends. Then everyone including the teacher was silent as the FBI came in. When backpack became a criminal the FBI started having backpack checks in all the schools. but this time Backpack was shocked to see Christopher doing the checks! He had a broken leg, a broken arm, and three broken ribs, and he was wearing FBI gear. But the biggest surprise was that he was alive!! Christopher would certainly recognize backpack. Backpack had never had a problem like this before because previously all of his owners had been killed-by him. But Christopher would definitely recognize the soda pop that Backpack's first owner George had spilled on him. So before Christopher could reach him, he jumped out the window and started running towards the busses. Christopher could not follow him because of his injuries, but the other police were after him in a second.

Backpack usually kept his mouth zipped, but he couldn't resist. He unzipped it to say, "Run, run as fast as you can! You can't catch me, I'm the backpack man!" Backpack man, that's kind of catchy. Backpack laughed at his own joke.

When he reached the school busses, he knocked out the bus driver and hit the gas. He knew he couldn't go back to Walmart, they'd look there. He swerved the bus around the corner, slammed the brakes and ran across the street into the garbage dump. He found a cozy spot on a trash bag and fell asleep.

Chapter 3: Wally

Backpack woke to hear the police sirens. The local police were searching in the bus. "You sly piece of school supplies," he said to himself. But he spoke a little too loudly becaues the nearest policeman heard and started running toward him. Backpack was trapped and he immediately wished he had a weapon. His only escape route was a window about 15 feet above his head. It lead into the apartment complex next to the trash dump. He started scaling the wall only to have his straps grabbed by a police officer below. Backpack kicked and punched but the man's grasp was like iron. Once he was pulled down Backpack still struggled to break free. One of the officers yelled, "tranquilize him! tanquilize him!". Then backpack felt the sting of a dart and was shoved into the back seat of the police, car in deep slumber, dreaming of cupcakes and icecream.
